Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Scanner AI Pro (the "App") handles your information. It applies to the iOS app published under the name Scanner AI Pro: PDF Document Scanner.

The short version

Scanner AI Pro is built to work privately. Your scans, your documents, and the text recognized inside them are processed and stored on your device. We do not operate servers that receive your documents. We do not sell or share your personal data, and we do not track you.

Information we collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal information or your documents. Documents you scan, along with any recognized text and any edits you make, remain in the App's storage on your device. If you choose to back up your device or use iCloud, that backup is controlled by Apple and by your own device settings, not by us.

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not have one to give you.

Camera and photo library

With your permission, the App uses your device camera to scan documents, and optionally your photo library to import images into a document. These images are used solely to create and edit your documents on your device. You can revoke either permission at any time in iOS Settings, and the App will simply stop offering the corresponding feature.

Text recognition

Text recognition (OCR) is performed entirely on your device using Apple's on-device Vision framework. The contents of your documents are not uploaded anywhere for processing.

Subscriptions and purchases

Scanner AI Pro is offered as an auto-renewing subscription. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive or store your payment card details. Apple's handling of your purchase information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple account settings.

Analytics, advertising and tracking

The App contains no third-party advertising, no third-party analytics SDKs, and no cross-app or cross-site tracking. It does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA).

Data sharing

We do not share your documents or personal data with third parties, because we do not have them. If you use the App's share or export features, the document is handed to whichever app or service you choose at that moment (Mail, Files, Messages, and so on), and that service's own policies then apply.

Data retention and deletion

Because your documents live on your device, you are the one who controls them. Deleting a document in the App removes it from your device. Deleting the App removes all documents the App had stored.

Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

Documents are stored inside the App's protected storage on your device, covered by iOS file protection. Setting a device passcode and enabling Face ID or Touch ID meaningfully improves the security of everything on your phone, including your scans.

Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights to access, correct, and delete personal data held about you. Since we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to hand over or erase — your data is already entirely in your possession, on your device.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.
